Illuminating Hope: How solar lights are transforming lives in Rural Areas – Call for donations to install 500 solar lights in homes without electricity

Dear friends and partners,

The night falls quickly in the ultra-rural regions of Eastern Indonesia, where we operate. Picture homes made of bamboo and wood, schools, and medical care centers plunged into darkness by 5:30 pm. It is under these conditions that numerous children attempt to continue their education, and our medical teams strive to provide essential care. Electricity is not a luxury; it is a catalyst for progress, a means for these children to break the cycle of poverty and disease.

What is a Solar Lamp?
We are talking about a small solar lighting system, perfectly suited to the needs of the communities we serve. Equipped with LED lights and a phone battery recharging function, each unit is powered by a solar panel. Not only do these lamps serve as domestic lighting, but they also double as flashlights that children can take to illuminate their way to school or to the nearest water source.

Why is This So Crucial?
Access to a reliable source of light and electricity is not a luxury, but a vital necessity. In a region where infectious diseases like malaria and tuberculosis are endemic, the ability to charge a mobile phone can mean access to emergency medical care. Extended lighting also enables children to continue their studies after dark, thereby improving their future prospects. These solar lamps are not a superfluity; they are a gateway to education and health, fundamental aspects of human development.

How Can I Help You?
To illuminate the homes made of wood, bamboo, and earth in these isolated regions, we need your support to finance the acquisition of 500 of these solar installations.

The cost of one installation for one home is CHF 175.-. You can contribute to the financing of a single installation or several; every contribution counts.

Your support goes beyond merely providing light; it paves the way for a better life for hundreds of thousands of people. Thank you wholeheartedly for your generosity and commitment to improving living conditions in the most vulnerable regions of Eastern Indonesia.
