Kambera’s house, some photos taken over the last 6 weeks. A job 18 hours a day, 7 days a week to give the best of ourselves to all those who have great needs in the eastern part of Indonesia. The Foundation develops and implements actions in eastern Indonesia (NTT) and particularly in East Sumba. To do so, we decided to coordinate our actions from what is now; “The Fair Future Base Camp” in the eastern region of the country. In a village near Waingapu named Lambanapu. Kambera House is her name. -Home- This is the place where all our social-medical, educational activities in favor of children, women and communities in rural and suburban areas where access to water, electricity, education or health care is almost non-existent.

Some photos of our Base Camp in East Sumba “Kambera House”. The place was renovated by the Fair Future Foundation and Kawan Baik Indonesia themselves last year.

A magical place where the projects of our 2 legal organizations are created, developed & implemented, one from Switzerland and the other from Indonesia.

Programs are structured in partnership with the local government, Tp-pkk East Sumba, but also and above all with local communities, especially those in the most rural, unreached, and consequently disadvantaged areas. Those with access to water, electricity, medical care – even the most basic ones – are almost inaccessible. But we are here to help, find the most suitable, innovative & sustainable solutions.

Within the framework of Rumah Kambera, these are public health actions, the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and other epidemics, access to clean and drinking water, sanitation solutions (toilet, bathing, washing clothes), but also access to schools, donations of healthy food that are currently underway. take place.

In this regard, Rumah Kambera is heavily involved in health issues of access to medical care. In order not to do things in the short term, we know that clean water and good sanitation are very important to prevent and reduce child mortality. Women who become pregnant at both extremes of childbearing age are at higher risk for both mother and child; the same is true for multiparous women and women with short birth intervals. Read more here!

Directly from Rumah Kambera, Fair Future and Yayasan Kawan Baik were medically involved. Indeed, it should be noted that most deaths of children aged 1 to 4 years can be prevented by simple health interventions. Which we can give to many, many people on the site every day. Note also that the main causes of death here are diarrhea and respiratory diseases, malnutrition and infectious diseases (in this case, vaccination of children is very important, but still too rare). Finally, we realized that we do a lot of health prevention work within the framework of the Kambera House. And this, in the simplest way! Do something with our hearts!

As the local doctor told us more than once: “You guys really take care of people in an amazing way …”. That’s a nice compliment, because we don’t realize it, it’s just our daily routine when we receive sick patients, talk to them, make them laugh, share more than just a simple medical consultation with them.

Among the innovative work, we build metal structures there, repair objects, scooters, plan to drill deep wells in completely inaccessible areas. For example, the construction of toilets, showers that are connected to drilling wells for access to clean water, was carried out at the Kambera House. It took us two weeks to build a sanitation point including two toilets per type and a shower. This construction will then be completed and in the field, where almost no one ever goes.

Cambera’s house? It is a magical place where people with many imaginations, dreams, live and work with a smile. This is also the house where all dreams come true!

Our community gardens are well developed, as are pharmacies and health centers which welcome sick patients or patients with various diseases every day. Especially with regard to the malnutrition that wreaks havoc here in the area we are in.

In short, the year of work is presented to us! And if you want to be a part of this magical place, help us, then you are all welcome.

What are we doing at the Kambera House?

Covid-19 pandemic: Population testing, vaccination, situation mapping, donation of healthy food, drinking water, information and prevention of contamination pathways;

Access to clean water and sanitation facilities: Construction of water points, drilling of wells, toilets by type, showers, biological filtration and information on water, committed to conserving it and using it in a way that is healthy for humans;

Creation and construction of infrastructure schools, schools, health centers so that each can access health services and schools;

Respond to natural disasters (common in the region), reconstruction, preservation, emergency care, advanced first aid stations, establishment of emergency medical care, distribution of food, water, etc…;

Truck of Life Programs: Medical treatment, distribution of food, building materials, transportation of medical teams to the site, picking up sick or injured people to be taken to hospitals, etc…;

And all social, medical, other infrastructure activities related to the foundation’s mission in the field;
