Water is the most important component in the human body.

Much can be done with the availability of clean water. Including growing healthy food crops such as fruit and vegetables.
Water is the most important component in the human body. More than 60% of the adult body weight is water, while in children and infants up to 70% to 75%. The function of water as a stabilizer of body temperature makes us lose fluids when burning calories because of our daily activities, excreted through sweat and urination. This needs to be replaced through drinking or consumption of fruits and vegetables. In growing children, pregnant and lactating mothers, need more water. Drinking enough and not holding back urination is a good habit because it helps the kidneys to clean toxins in the body while smoothing the excretory system.

But is all water good?

The simplest standard for determining good water that is fit for consumption is that it is odorless, tasteless, and clear, colorless. Only one of the three things is not fulfilled so we need to be careful. And the condition of water sources in some of the villages and settlements we visited in #Sumba is very worrying.

Water sources that are not kept clean have a bad effect on health, while there are many obstacles in getting water, so people have to use it very sparingly. Finally, they rarely drink. Or drinking rain water without being cooked or filtered with the impact of digestive disorders that often suffer from residents.

World Health Day 2022 themed “Our Planet, Our Health”, about how the health condition of the Earth is a marker of human health. In Sumba, we together with @fairfuturefoundation share the right to healthy through #WaterConnection, reducing the distance between citizens and their basic rights to clean water and healthy sanitation. Because water is a blessing, and it is only natural that the blessing should be shared.

So that you are always healthy, don’t forget to drink water!
