Talk Show "Behind the scenes - Kabar dari Timur" in the Sumba Photo Stories program series Held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at MASH Denpasar. The event, began with the exploration of virtual exhibitions by the participants, then continued with presentation sessions and Q&A about the work and challenges of issues occurring in the remote area of Sumba. Not too many were present, but questions feedback, and complementary information made this event more memorable for us and a valuable evaluation of the sustainability of the Sumba photo stories program and follow-up plan for the better and more targeted mentoring program. Presentation presentations conducted by @vifickbolang and @goonjourney about photographic works to social mapping and supported by @kanopi_berjalan provide insight during the facilitator of children, strengthening the works into data that can be further analyzed for appropriate social action. Thank you to @mashdenpasar who provided support and allowed us to come face to face. The Art House Cinema room, which is owned with a good audio-visual device, makes for a great display of work and a relief to appreciate. Thanks to all the visitors present, your input is all very valuable. See you at the next event. Acara ini diorganisasi dan didukung juga oleh @kawanbaikindonesia @fairfuturefoundation

After fourteen days of entering the new year, SD Mbinudita had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas Day. The atmosphere of Christmas is still not lost in excitement even though activities must be carried out with the protocols that apply during the pandemic. @kawanbaikindonesia together @fairfuturefoundation prepare Christmas for the children of Mbinudita. On this occasion, the children in Mbinudita got a special gift from @littletree_bali who raised funds from the sale of children’s work in Bali which was like raincoats, and drinking bottles to event consumption, @scholarsofsustenanceid Bali who sent 10 cartons of snacks, and personal donors who gave additional gifts in the form of T-shirts for children. The Christmas moment was filled with various events such as singing offerings from SD and PAUD Mbinudita, puppet stage, competition to make Christmas greeting cards, socialization of TANGKIS, and gift giving by Santa Claus. The Christmas prepared at that time also involved volunteer friends from @sumbavolunteer, @charis.sumba, @anugerahanaksumba, @cahayaanaksumba_pkbm, and Lewa Student Association (IKPML). This exhibition is a glimpse of life in the east, life in rural East Sumba. A representation of the daily life of families in remote areas, captured from the eyes of young students aged 9 to 12 years. They opened the house for us, shared regular meals with us, invited us to follow them on the way to school, see their islands and hills from morning to night. They capture the moments that mark their lives and explain them to us. Creating stories from these images is also an important part of this exhibition that has gone through a curation process. They not only open the door but also want to explain and tell stories through photos. Now we just have to watch and listen. From the remote district of Kahaungu Eti in the eastern part of East Sumba regency, East Nusa Tenggara, their villages are named Kamanggih and Matawai Katingga. 28 of the 48 children who have attended the training are writers and artists from this exhibition titled “News From the East”. Through these photos, viewers in Indonesia and around the world can imagine and immerse themselves in the daily lives of children in the region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cancellation of socio-cultural events, and the cessation of teaching and learning activities in Indonesia, the exhibition must be adjusted. Therefore, the exhibition is adapted online, making it accessible to a wider audience through smartphone, tablet, or computer devices.
